What are you Thankful for?

The third Thursday every November, Thanksgiving is celebrated across the United States. Thanksgiving is a time to show expressions of gratitude. The traditional way of celebrating the holiday is by giving thanks to our friends and family by enjoying a meal together that traditionally includes a turkey – roasted, baked or fried. Other staple foods include stuffing, mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce and pumpkin pie. Although these are the traditional foods, many will tell you they have several other options that make the holiday their own personal tradition.

The Thanksgiving holiday is also a time for many to reflect with their friends and family over dinner. A reflection of the past year, of what is important in life and how to continue their happiness throughout the years to come. I think this time of year is when people become immersed with holiday spirit and genuinely want to be grateful for what is important in life. I mean, it’s hard not to be happy when the giving season is among us.

Since our recent introduction of ‘Meet DCG’, we wanted to take this holiday and let our readers know what some of our staff at DCG is thankful for. As every work family, we all have the same goal in mind and that is to strive for success every day to make our company the best it can be. This time of year puts even the littlest things/ moments into perspective and for that, we are all thankful to cohesively celebrate this holiday through our thankfulness and reflection.

“First, I am so thankful for a supportive wife who is an amazing mother to our five beautiful children. I am grateful for a place to work that gives me a sense of accomplishment. I am also thankful for a group of customers and partners who truly care about our end customers and the technology that we provide. What we do is so much more than software and technology. It is all about serving our customers, transforming businesses, and empowering companies to achieve their missions. I am grateful that this common goal drives us all!”

“I am most thankful for whole family’s health & safety this holiday season and the fact that my 7-month-old, Alex, is happy and able to be with his mommy during his early years. I am also grateful for the wonderful employment opportunity I’ve been given and the relationships I’m building with the talented team members at DCG. . Lastly, I am thankful that I have had a marriage that has overcome many obstacles and is founded on patience, love, and good communication. “

“This year I am most grateful for friends, family, and chosen family that challenge me, support me, lend an ear and hand when I need it, and most of all remind me of the connection and need for community that we all share.  I push myself to do better, take more risks, and improve my life because I have these people behind me.  I’m grateful to the silly theme parties, deep conversations, game nights, movie nights, and arguments over what constitutes a sandwich.  The people around us are the most important and fulfilling things in life and I feel incredibly fortunate to have these people around me.”

“Every Thanksgiving, my family and I get together for dinner and board games. I’m very thankful to live somewhere close to them so I can spend time with them this year, as well as see them regularly. I’m very grateful to be with my girlfriend, who is very supportive and is incredibly important to me. I’m also thankful for her family and that I get to spend time with them during the holidays this year as well. Finally, I’m very thankful to work where I do, with the people I do, doing the work I do. This really is the best job in the world to me and I’m very fortunate to be here with my coworkers and clients. Thank you to all of you: family, friends and associates. You really make my life great!”

“This time of the year for me is great for not only reflection, but thankfulness. When I look back over my life, I can't be thankful for just one thing, but many! I'm thankful for this job and the opportunity to work with great people, I’m thankful for my friends, thankful for my church, and thankful for the little things in life we often overlook, such as health, a house to sleep in, food, water, etc.”

“When this time of year hits, I always take the time to reflect on the last year that has passed. This past year I have experienced the highest of the highs and the lowest of the lows but coming out from both I am most thankful for my family and friends. The ones who have been there through both highs and lows and continue to stand beside and behind me to catch me every single time I need it. Each year they continue to support my aspirations and I stand taller because of each of them. I am thankful I have my health and that I will never take for granted. Lastly, I am thankful to work in such an entertaining environment with coworkers that I continue to learn from every day.”

“First and foremost, I am thankful for my foundations and faith in God; this is what has paved the paths of my life and led me to be what I am today. Second, given the tragedies and health issues that friends and loved ones have faced, I am thankful for my family, my health, and the belongings that I have been blessed to have. Lastly, I am thankful for DCG, and the extended work family that has done such a great job making this company what it is! I am looking forward to many successful years ahead!”

“I am thankful for every day that I get to spend with my parents and in-laws. They are all people with the biggest hearts and their influence on my wife and I’s life is nothing short of miraculous. I’m thankful for my brothers and sisters that I had the opportunity to serve in the military with, those who served before me, and those who serve today. I cannot be more thankful for my wife Danielle, who is literally the best person I know and the best thing that’s ever happened to me. I’m also thankful for our cats, because they’re not jerks which is kind of weird all things considered.”

“First and foremost, I am thankful for my friends and family. Second, I am thankful for being healthy and relatively happy. I am also thankful for my girlfriend who still puts up with me most of the time. Lastly, I am thankful for the blessings that have come my way this past year.”
Alex Barbieri
“I have a lot to be thankful for. I am healthy, happy and I am loved. I'm most thankful for my friends and family, without them life would be so much harder.”
Josh Santiago
“Darkness has a hard time entering a thankful heart. Things can be replaced; people cannot. This year, I'm thankful for irreplaceable things - family and friends, and the grace of God. I’m also thankful for great coworkers! Happy Thanksgiving!”
Tony Pimpo
“When I reflect on why I love what I do, I always go back to how many people we have helped, directly and indirectly.  We are presented with such a variety of real-life business, social and even moral opportunities that we get to help solve. We have helped farmers get the equipment they need to harvest their crops. We helped Veterans receive a better healthcare experience.  We have helped countless other companies deliver their goods and services more efficiently.  In doing so, I have an appreciation for all the people that do the hidden jobs that gets the food from the field to my table, the doctor the information he needs to keep me healthy and most of all the ability to share that knowledge and appreciation with my family, who I am most thankful for.”
Patrick Vogtner
“I am thankful for the fact that I live in a free country that I can practice and live what I believe openly. I am thankful for all the wonderful blessings that God has blessed me and my family with over the past year, including the wonderful group of people that I am privileged to work with. Time nor paper would allow me to express ALL my gratitude for each individual. Gratitude is a powerful thing and I think Melody Beattie said it very well, “Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity. It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend.” So, this is why I really want to express my gratefulness, more than just in November!”
Brandon Hilton
